The Audley
The Audley is a traditional neighbourhood pub located on the corner of South Audley Street and Mount Street. Set within a landmark Grade II-listed building just moments from Hyde Park, it remains one of Mayfair’s most iconic historic establishments and a fine example of the Great British public house. Dating back to 1888, the building is recognised for both its architectural and cultural significance.
Our scope of works included the full refurbishment of the existing ground floor public house, including the restoration of the iconic timber panelling, the installation of a new bespoke mahogany bar, and the creation of a decorative bespoke bulkhead, all designed to complement one another and bring cohesion to the space.
The project also included the fit-out of a new luxury restaurant on the first floor, along with the creation of private dining rooms, galleries, and event spaces across the second, third, and fourth floors. In addition, a full commercial kitchen, customer WC facilities, staff areas, and five bespoke door designs integrated throughout the various floor levels were manufactured and installed as part of the overall scheme, including works within the basement level of the building.
We worked closely with the client’s interior designer, Luis LaPlace, through a series of site visits and workshops to develop the detailing and fabrication methods across all aspects of the project, ensuring a high-quality and carefully considered end result.
Extensive restoration works were carried out to the original timber panelling and pub interiors, including the replication of 100+-year-old moulded profiles and the restoration of original features to bring them back to life. New panelling was also manufactured to integrate seamlessly with the existing works while maintaining the historic character of the building.
Today, The Audley has been given a new lease of life, extending beyond the public house itself to encompass the four floors above. The result is a revitalised destination in the heart of Mayfair, offering an exceptional experience within this distinguished Victorian building.
